DVLA Number Plates

DVLA number plates are, effectively all number plates because all number plates are issued by DVLA.

DVLA (the abbreviation for the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency) is responsible for all matters concerning the registration of vehicles and drivers in Great Britain.  DVLA number plates are registered to and physically fixed to all vehicles to be a unique identification for each.  From analysing a DVLA number plate it is possible to recognise where a vehicle comes from and its age.  This assumes that a vehicle has retained its original number plate and has not gone through a cherished transfer to display a personalised number plate.  If it has, then the DVLA number plate will reveal nothing accurate about the vehicle.
